Located in a historic, neo-Gothic church in Uptown Charlotte, McColl Center for Art + Innovation is home to over 30,000 square feet of studios and Gallery space. We welcome the public to explore our exhibitions and connect with artists through various programs including open studios, community engagement initiatives, workshops and more.

Getting Here

McColl Center for Art + Innovation is located at 721 N Tryon ST, between 10TH and 11TH Streets, next to Charlotte Ballet, in Uptown, Charlotte.

From Uptown: Drive north on Tryon ST The Center will be on the left, just past the Charlotte Ballet. (To reach our lot, turn left on 10TH St before you reach our building. The lot will be located on your right.)

From 277 S: Take exit 3B for Church St (toward Tryon ST); merge onto East 11TH ST. Turn right on N Tryon ST (To reach our lot, turn right onto 10TH ST just past our building, and the lot will be located on your right behind the Charlotte Ballet).

From 277 N: Take exit 3C toward Church ST / Downtown; merge onto West 12TH ST. Turn left on N Church ST. Continue past the rear of our building (it will be on your left), and turn left onto 10TH ST. Our parking lot’s entrance is located immediately on the left.

The Center is an easy walk from most uptown attractions. We are also just a few blocks from the 7TH ST light rail stop.

CATS routes 11, 13, and 22 (Green line).


Free parking is available in our lot located at the corner of 10th and Church Streets (accessed from 10th St). Metered parking is also available along 10th, Church and Tryon Streets. (Metered spots are free after 6 PM and on weekends.) 


Accessible parking is located in the small lot directly behind our building on Church St. An accessible entrance is also located at the rear of the building at the large bay door. Simply buzz for admittance, or call ahead, and we will be glad to have a staff member ready to assist you. We strive to make our galleries and programs accessible to all patrons.
