Lisa Holder

“Most of my photography revolves around women, memory, and identity. This work is from a series on women in bed, where my goal was to capture both intimacy and vulnerability. I shoot with infrared film for the grainy, dreamy quality and then alter the images with techniques such as toning and bleaching.”

Lisa Holder received her BFA from University of Colorado and an MFA from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She was previously an Art-Teacher in Residence at McColl Center for Visual Art in 2008. She has exhibited at the Women of the Congo event in New York City. Her work is part of the traveling exhibit, Telling our Stories, organized by the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources.
