McColl Center for Visual Art will host an exhibition of art proposed for Charlotte Area Transit System’s (CATS) LYNX Blue Line Light Rail Extension. This exhibition, on view from March 8 through March 30, will provide an opportunity for the public to view the proposed works.

For the past decade, the Art Teacher-in-Residence program at McColl Center for Visual Art creates residency opportunities for the dedicated art teachers in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. For the second consecutive year, the Center has received a major contribution from Gail Thomas Peacock to sustain the second year of the Gail Thomas Peacock CMS Art Teacher-in-Residence and Travel Awards. This year’s recipients of the travel award are CMS art teachers, Katherine Allen (William Amos Hough High), Cindy Klingberg (Butler High School), and Beth Lasure (Mallard Creek High School). An exhibition of the art proposed for Charlotte Area Transit System’s Blue Line Extension of its light rail will be presented at Storrs Gallery in the College of Arts + Architecture at UNC Charlotte’s main campus from January 14 to February 28 and includes several of the Center's current and alumni artists. The exhibit will travel to McColl Center for Visual Art for viewing March 8-30 during gallery hours in our Innovation Institute space.
