New York environmental artist and activist Aurora Robson opens her new installation, Stayin’ Alive, at McColl Center for Art + Innovation this Friday with an Opening Reception from 6 to 9 PM
Robson, the ArtPlace America Environmental Artist-in-Residence has a practice that is not only graceful and poetic, but ultimately part of a long-term solution to widespread apathy and nihilism. Her transformative work intercepts from the waste stream plastic debris, excess packaging, and junk mail in order to address urgent environmental issues of consciousness as they relate to our values and the environment.
Stayin’ Alive highlights previously created works including the massive installation Be Like Water and the mesmerizing Kamilo in addition to new works constructed during her McColl Center Winter Session residency.
