McColl Center for Art + Innovation is housed in one of Uptown Charlotte’s most beautiful buildings—a retrofitted Neo-Gothic structure and historic landmark on North Tryon Street in the Fourth Ward neighborhood.
Every several years or so, it’s necessary to pressure wash and apply a waterproof sealant to the original 1926 exterior stone. That’s what we’re doing this summer.
Since this work may cause considerable disruptions to the artist studios and present challenges in accessing the building, we will not host any programs this summer. We are taking this time to not only do exterior building maintenance, but to also do much-needed interior maintenance and bring the artist studios back up to great working condition.
Stay in touch with us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and sign up for our email newsletter. Throughout the summer, we’ll use these channels to highlight alumni artists-in-residence, and to announce our fall 2017 artists-in-residence, upcoming exhibitions, and public programs.
