MEOWING FROM THE MANSE
Ignoring the no trespassing rule, a calico cat has made her way into the manse (the shell of a building behind the Center) and started a family. A litter of four kittens, now approximately six weeks old, hide amongst the rubble, but come out to play and explore during the cooler times of the day. Each kitten has their own personality with distinct markings; the runt of the litter even sports a unique bobbed tail and wears a feisty orange and white coat.
And even though the cats have been breaking our trespassing rules, we do have a heart, they are curious creatures! So, we have been sure to leave plenty of food and water until a better home comes available. That's where you come in!
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting a Center kitten, contact Sara Simmons at ssimmons@mccollcenter.org or call 704.332.5535.
And because the kittens don’t want to get in trouble for trespassing, they are easily spooked when they see a Center staff member, so in addition to wanting to find them a better home, we are also accepting help/suggestions to safely trap our furry criminals.
