Join us for Community Day on Saturday, October 29 from 11 AM to 4 PM for a day of free artist-led projects at McColl Center for Visual Art as part of the Wells Fargo Community Celebration! Last Community Day we had over 1,000 people participate in a variety of activites throughout the building. With something for every age, interest and skill level, we welcome you, your friends and family back for new activities with new artists!

Projects include:

DRAWING BOOTH with Brian Scott Campbell: Studio 315, 3rd Floor
Join resident Brian Scott Campbell in his studio to sketch ideas and create a large scale drawing. 

DRAWINGS AND COLLAGE with Isaac Payne
: Studio 316, 3rd Floor
Isaac Payne will lead you through the creation of drawing and collage representing people, places and things. 

COLLAGE POSTCARDS with Allyson Packer: Studio 221, 2nd Floor
Send a special message to the past. Collage a postcard with resident Allyson Packer to be mailed to your childhood home.

PAPER MAKING DEMONSTRATION with Carrie Becker: Studio 215, 2nd Floor
Carrie Becker will show you how to make and decorate handmade paper using household items.

CAPTURED MOMENT ORAL HISTORIES VIDEOS with Michaela Pilar Brown: Boardroom, 1 PM
Gantt Center Artist-in-Residence, Michaela Pilar Brown will host a presentation and discussion on "Captured Moment Oral Histories" a series of videos focused on midwifery, war, racism and folk traditions and legends. This presentation may contain content suitable only for adults.

GIANT TISSUE PAPER FLOWERS with Felicia van Bork: Front Lawn
Put a bit of Spring into Fall with resident Felicia van Bork and create giant flowers from paper.

RECYCLED BUTTERFLIES with David Edgar: Education Studio, Ground Floor
Make recycling beautiful with alumnus artist David Edgar and transform everyday yogurt cups into fabulous butterflies.

TATTOO'S BY SUZ with Susan Lee Chun: Studio 218, 2nd Floor and Gold Rush
Knight Artist-in-Residence Susan Lee-Chun from McColl Center for Visual Art will ride the Gold Rush from the Wells Fargo Community Day Celebration to McColl Center for Visual Art offering riders an original temporary tattoo created especially for Community Day. Catch Susan on the Gold Rush from 11:00-11:30 AM and 2:00-2:30 PM or in her studio at McColl Center for Visual Art from 11:30-2 PM and 2:30-4PM.

IDENTIFIYNG TODAY'S COURAGE with Sheila Turner: Studio 313 Upper Level, 3rd Floor
In a game of Stop and Go with Levine Museum Artist-in-Residence Sheila Turner, visitors can help identify contemporary images of courage.

1st Floor Galleries: Elements
Don't forget to make some time to view the Elements exhibit on the 1st floor with works by Carrie Becker and Michael Gayk.
