DOUBLE YOUR DONATION AT POWER2GIVE
Power2give.org, a project of the Arts & Science Council (ASC), is a fundraising platform for non-profit organizations to raise dollars for arts and cultural projects in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. The site, launched August 29, 2011, has funded more than fifty projects, generated 1,170 donations and raised nearly $220,000. One of the projects that received funding was in support of McColl Center for Visual Art's Environmental Artist-in-Residence Program which raised $1,000 to control invasive plants at Freedom Park. "We think power2give is such an innovative way to get the community engaged in the arts," said Michael Marsicano, president and CEO of Foundation For The Carolinas. "We are delighted to be able to support the Arts & Science Council this way."
"I am grateful to the Foundation for making an important investment in power2give.org," said ASC President Scott Provancher. "This generous match will provide an extra push to bring these projects to life as donors make year-end gifts."
McColl Center for Visual Art invites you to double your donation and support our most recent project that funds scholarships for Non-Profit Leaders to attend the Innovation Institute at McColl Center for Visual Art. To learn more about this project, click here.
Foundations For The Carolinas has provided the second matching gift grant to power2give.org. The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation matched $100,000 worth of projects for $1 for $1 when the site launched.
