ADULT WORKSHOPS

ENCAUSTIC PAINTING
Using the hot wax painting method of Encaustic Painting, participants will be lead through an introduction to this ancient medium. Participants will use stenciling, collage, and painting techniques to create a finished work of art. All supplies are included in the registration fee, however, participants who want to personalize their paintings may want to bring the following items: magazine and/or book clippings, fiber materials (fabric, yarn, thread), Xerox copies, or photographs (photos will be permanently altered, so make a copy if needed).

PRINTMAKING
Working in the Center's printmaking studio, participants will learn studio practices that include ink mixing, how to operate a printing press, and how to prepare paper for printing. Participants will then create their own monoprints using reductive printing methods, trace printing, and paper stamping.

HAND BUILDING WITH CLAY
This class will introduce participants to clay hand building techniques with a focus on coil building and surface design. No experience required. All supplies are included in the registration fee.
