But not only does this reception mark the end of the exhibition, it also signifies the end of the residency term for the Winter 2010 Artists-in-Residence and our 11-Month Affiliate Artists. So come bid farewell to our residences, come see what they have accomplished during their tenure and wish them luck on their artistic journey as they move on.

McColl Center for Visual Art is also pleased to unveil the culmination of the Queer Reclamation of the Queen City Project at the closing reception. Abdi Osman, current resident worked with members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) community throughout his residency to collect photographs. From them, Abdi created a limited edition print that addresses public awareness and cultivates an alliance between the Charlotte community at large and the gay and lesbian community.

Join the staff, artists, friends and family of the Center, Take Over Charlotte and the Lesbian and Gay Community Center on March 19. The celebration starts at 6 PM and continues to 11 PM.
