This past Saturday, the Center held an Open Studio with a special painting project in collaboration with Charlotte Area Transit System. With over 375 visitors for the day, participants braved the near-record-breaking weather to drop in and contribute their creative talents to a community mural which will serve as the construction fence at Charlotte Area Transit's North Davidson bus facility at 12th and North Davidson streets.

Forty panels were painted by both children and adults from the community under the creative direction of local artist and CATS employee, Raymond Burton (above center) who created the design of the city’s skyline with help from several participants including Merritt and Murphy McCull (seen above.) The panels will be installed late June/early July and will commemorate Burton’s theme; From Point A to Point B: How do you get from here to there and beyond.
