Woodcut is an ancient and expressive form of image making originating as early as the 6th century in China. It is considered the foundation on which all mass communication was built. Come draw, cut and print a monochromatic woodcut as the artist demonstrates each stage of the process.
Learn more than just the technique. The workshop will also cover:
Drawing considerations for woodcuts
Tools & materials (types of wood, papers, inks and modifiers, sharpening tools)
Press vs. hand printing
Relief printmaking with limited space and budget
