Join the Contemporaries for the first event of their 2010 Photography Series; Through the Lens: The Art of the Photographed Image.  This three-part series will explore fine art photography in the Charlotte community and the role it plays in contemporary art.

The Contemporaries will visit DOMA Gallery, owned by Gabrielle Larew, and explore the exhibition Mysticism, Apparitions, Dreams, featuring work by artists Andrea Brown (alumni), Igor Malijevsky and local artist Raymond Grubb (alumni.) Engage in conversations with Larew and Grubb about the journey of fine art photography in the Charlotte area.  Learn how artists are selected for DOMA Gallery and Larew’s vision for photography in Charlotte.

DOMA Gallery is a contemporary fine art photography gallery featuring works by regional, national and international artists. Located in historic South End, DOMA Gallery is the first gallery in Charlotte to exclusively represent fine art photography and video art.
