"Something Like a FAHAMENON" is a series of parties hosted by visual and performance artist Fahamu Pecou. Staged in various cities across the country, the parties are focused on creating memorable experiences around the arts by making the institution of art accessible to diverse audiences through music, culture and party atmosphere. The next installment, "90's JAM", will feature music and memories from 1988-1995, a period known in hip-hop culture as "the golden era". The party features a DJ Salah Ananse spinning music relative to the theme, a book signing and Pecou as MC/host. Guests are encouraged to come dressed according to the theme, in this case the 90's. (i.e. African beads, biker shorts, stone-washed or airbrushed jeans, baggy pants, etc.).
