STIMULUS: BALANCE

[Postponed due to potential hurricane landfall. Rescheduled to Wednesday, September 26, 2018.]

What inspires artists to create? What stimulates their imaginations?

Stimulus offers visitors deeper insight into the work and ideas of contemporary artists. These sessions aim to make connections between current McColl Center artists-in-residence, McColl Center alumni artists, and our constantly evolving local arts community.

STIMULUS: BALANCE
Many artists must work multiple jobs to supplement their making and, therefore, seek support in adjacent or alternative industries. From engaging with academia and educational institutions to working within the hospitality or service industry, to exploring independent curatorial projects—balancing these priorities is what has enabled them to continue to work, further develop their crafts, and gain the valuable skills necessary to achieve balance in their life, their practice and their career. STIMULUS: BALANCE will focus on three artists whose work is inspired or influenced by another discipline, media or practice: Tom Stanley, Juan Logan, and Antoine Williams.

STIMULUS: BALANCE is organized by Queens University of Charlotte Professor Jessica Gaynelle Moss.

Free admission and everyone is welcome.
