6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
Alumna artist April Marten will teach you to design your own book using blank folded pages, decorative paper covers, and dyed waxed-linen thread. You’ll learn stab-stitch binding, also known as Japanese binding, a book structure best known for its decorative hand-sewn spine. This style of binding works well with loose sheets of paper, making it a good book structure for your drawings, notes, or a stack of pages to save for yourself or a gift.
This classic style of bookbinding is great for both beginning and intermediate students. Bring your own pages for a consult with April on how best to preserve your existing work.
Adults and teens are welcome.
