Stimulus: Beyond Dress (The Power of What We Wear)

There is power in the fabric, color, and even culture of clothing.

Guided by visiting curator Jonell Logan, this Stimulus conversation follows the teaming of winter/spring 2020 artists-in-residence Azita Moradkhani and Andrew Wilson with local fashion industry experts to create projects created in response to their investigation of ideas.

Moradkhani is paired with brand, image, and style expert Sonya Barnes while Wilson is teamed up with Springclean founder and CEO CT Anderson to create art that explores and re-contextualizes the social, cultural, environmental, and political significance of what we wear. The conversation will begin in the first-floor gallery, followed by visits to each artist’s studio for an intimate look at the work created.

The Stimulus series of conversations aim to make connections between the McColl Center and our constantly evolving local arts community.
