High School Internships

Summer OPPORTUNITIES

Mission

McColl Center for Art + Innovation offers internships with the intention of helping to educate and guide future arts administrators by providing students with the opportunity to be involved in a variety of tasks supporting the operations of an artist residency.

Interns will work with staff in various departments at McColl Center, and get real-life, professional experience. Internships will cover the following departments:

  • Residency + Programs: Leads exhibitions, artists-in-residence program, and public programming. Interns will work with the Residency + Programs team to provide support to the artists-in-residence and contracted artists to execute events and programs like open house, artist talks, and summer arts camps. Interns will gain hands-on experience assisting the artists-in-residence in their creative process ranging from research to studio assistance.
  • Development: Fundraises and cultivates donor relationships. The Development interns will provide essential assistance in raising funds for programs and general operating costs. Development interns will be responsible for researching potential donors and members. They will help prepare, edit, and record acknowledgments and supporting materials. They will also assist in planning fundraising events and manage filing and database entry.
  • Administration: Manages the day-to-operations of the office. Administrative interns will gain experience with data management software, data entry, and archiving. They can also expect to conduct research on McColl Center’s residency program for the purposes of collecting data to update existing files.

You can use this opportunity for credits if necessary. Please check with your school. Positions for internships are limited and competitive. This position is unpaid.
