Mini Art Lab: Star of the Story! Become A Children’s Book Character with Dakotah Aiyanna

Star of the Story! Become a Children’s Book Character is a step-by-step tutorial that will turn you into your own children’s book character. In this 40-minute art lesson, Charlotte-based artist Dakotah Aiyanna will show you how to identify traits about yourself that you love to create a character version of you! Using basic materials like paper, pencil, and colored pencils, the artist will also show you a simple way to draw bodies, hands, and faces. Afterwards, take your character and work with a friend or family member to create your story. Best for ages 5 and up.
