Artist Studios at McColl Center are designed to give Charlotte-area artists the space and resources to make artwork, develop their creative practice, and build community and support.
The studios are available for rent by working artists at affordable rates and include access to communal labs for printmaking, 3-D printing and laser cutting, digital media, ceramics, woodworking, and sculpture fabrication.
They are located on the third floor of our iconic building on North Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte and range in size from 89.5 to 134.9 square feet.
Studio artists have 24-hour access to their studios; communal labs access is from 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Artist Studios at McColl Center are generously supported by Windgate Foundation and Chandra and Jimmie Johnson.
The studio artists are:
- Wil Bosbyshell
- Micah Cash
- Christopher Holston
- Eboné M. Lockett (In partnership with Charlotte Is Creative)
- Malik J. Norman (In partnership with an anonymous donor)
- Kristen Rowell

Artist Studios at McColl Center maintain a thriving community of artists who participate in public events, share their practices and ideas, and enrich fellow artists both within the building and in the local community.
