Make artwork, develop your creative practice, and build community.
Artist Studios at McColl Center is a studio rental program designed to build creative community and support emerging artists in the Charlotte, North Carolina region. Our studios are available for rent by artists at below-market rates, while offering access to our communal labs for printmaking, 3D printing and laser cutting, digital media, ceramics, woodworking, and sculpture fabrication. Artist Studios at McColl Center maintain a thriving community of artists who participate in public events, share their practices and ideas, and enrich fellow artists both within the building and in the local community.
Rental studios are located on the third floor of our iconic building on North Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte and range in size from 89.5 sq. ft. to 134.9 sq. ft. Artists may apply for a one-year lease, with the option to renew for an additional year. Studio artists have 24-hour access to their studios; the communal labs can be accessed from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week.
