In our commitment to serving artists, McColl Center has expanded our Artist-in-residence program. The Catalyst Artist-in-Residence invites nationally acclaimed artists in advanced places in their careers to complete specific projects or to explore new work throughout the year. Functioning independently of our traditional program’s timeline, Catalyst artists can spend time working at McColl Center and connecting with local artists and the Charlotte community.
In the Spring of 2022, McColl Center was happy to welcome inaugural Catalyst Artist-in-Residence is multi-media artist William Cordova. This Fall, we are thrilled to welcome sculptor artist Chakaia Booker and master printmaker Phil Sanders to the Catalyst Artist-in-Residence program. Chakaia and Phil will spend two weeks at McColl Center collaborating to create a series of prints in our Printmaking and 3D Labs.
