Wednesday, November 3, 2021
6:30 p.m., cash bar beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Mint Museum Uptown: Robert Haywood Morrison Atrium
Our fall 2021 UNC Charlotte artist-in-residence Cherrie Yu, a Chicago-based filmmaker, and Charlotte-based musician Corey Shipp present a performance lecture on their archives of postmodern dance and classical music history at the Mint Museum’s Wednesday Night Live. The lecture weaves Shipp and Yu’s respective interests and memories, as they meditate on their personal relationships to historic archives as artists, students, and collaborators.
Wednesday Night Live, presented by Bank of America, is a collaboration between The Mint Museum, The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, and Blumenthal Performing Arts’ Knight Theater. Visitors will have free admission to the four museums 5-9 PM every Wednesday, as well as live entertainment or programming at one of the four institutions. The weekly entertainment will rotate each week between the four venues.
