Panel Discussion with Mary Valverde on Indigenous and African Diaspora of the Americas
@McCollCenter is excited to bring together Summer Artist-in-Residence Mary Valverde with residency alumni Esperanza Cortes, William Cordova, and artist Ronny Quevedo in discussion with Curator Eva Mayhabal Davis for a virtual discussion of their work and its connection to contemporary and historical themes of Indigenous and African diaspora of the Americas. We will discuss the significance of process, the abstraction of traditional forms, and artist agency.
