Komikka Patton

Komikka Patton is a 2D multimedia artist whose practice interrogates the intersections of futurism, transhumanism, mythology, and narrative construction. Utilizing ink, paper, and collage, her work engages in a critical examination of the human condition, mapping the liminal spaces between materiality and metaphysics. Patton’s compositions function as fragmented archives—disassembling and reassembling time, space, and epistemological frameworks to explore the ways in which personal and collective memory shape identity, belief systems, and the perception of reality.

Her research-driven approach incorporates elements of folklore, mysticism, and speculative inquiry. She currently lives and works in Charlotte, NC, where she continues to develop a body of work that challenges conventional narratives and engages with the evolving discourse on identity, temporality, and the posthuman condition.

___

My work explores the balance between life and death, deep understanding, and an embrace of the unknown, using cut paper, drawing, printmaking, and layering. I engage with the phenomena of consciousness, subconsciousness, collective consciousness, and the collective unconscious. Through these techniques, I aim to bring the unimaginable to life—expanding time, perspective, and place infinitely. My creative process is dedicated to creating spaces that invite self-reflection and challenge limited perceptions, revealing new restorative and transformative ways of living.

Each piece is a fragment of thoughts, memories, shadows, and dreams, converging to offer moments of clarity and self-awareness. I blend mystical elements with grounded concepts, referencing protostars, the occult, time, and the sacred feminine. These motifs explore cosmic origins, mortality, and our connection to the natural world. My art encourages viewers to see themselves as part of a larger whole, continuously evolving, transforming, and learning.

By cultivating a self-reflective space that serves as a time capsule of both past and future, I emphasize the perfection of the present moment. Through this expression of life in its most raw and honest state, I hope to inspire transparency, love, peace, and bliss—inviting humanity to observe itself, embrace its expansiveness, and step into the process of becoming.
