Art + Artists

Since 2005 I have been majority self-taught. Although I hold a BA in Fashion Merchandising from Howard University, I’ve been consistently designing for others since purchasing my first machine on a whim. From custom book bag prototypes, gowns, outerwear, and even multiple wedding dresses, I’ve taken on a lot of different projects all with the aim of being able to give it my own fresh touch. Originally born in NYC, raised in New Jersey, and now living in Charlotte, one common thread over the years has been that when it comes to style, you can become whoever you want at the drop of a hat…literally. While visual artists use paint, brushes, and canvas, I create my brand of art with textiles, threads, and a lot of imagination. Over the years I’ve worked with bespoke clients, shown in art galleries, been an educator, a Goodyear Arts Collective Summer Resident, and even gone on to be a semifinalist of Project Runway Season 17. As a business owner and father, one thing that’s clear is that I truly love being able to make art in the form of fashion and fiber.
