AMERICAN(A) PROPERTY Announces Public Intake Registry | CLT Shout

Date: Saturday, April 11 —Saturday, April 11, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM —5:00 PM
Location: McColl Center

AMERICAN(A) PROPERTY will conduct a public intake event on April 11, 2026, at the McColl Center, facilitating the voluntary conveyance of objects commonly categorized as “Black Americana.” The registry operates through the execution of standardized deed instruments designed to document ownership transfer and archival entry.

During designated intake hours, an authorized representative of AMERICAN(A) PROPERTY will be present on site to administer documentation procedures, verify descriptive information, and collect the conveyed materials. Upon completion of the transfer process, each object will be cataloged within the developing AMERICAN(A) PROPERTY archive.

No monetary consideration will be provided for conveyed materials. In lieu of financial remuneration, participants will receive a numbered carbon-copy print edition documenting execution of the transfer instrument and entry of the article into the archive. This document serves as an official record of participation in the registry.

The initiative adopts administrative formats derived from regional property recording practices and institutional collection protocols. Through these mechanisms, AMERICAN(A) PROPERTY examines the continued circulation of racially coded representational artifacts within domestic, commercial, and intergenerational contexts.

Intake sessions will occur Saturday, April 11th from 10-12 or 3-5PM. Individuals seeking additional information regarding transfer procedures or object eligibility may visit www.williamevans.studio/americanaproperty.
