Alice Gosti

Alice Gosti is a choreographer and performance artist whose work centers around the power of movement. She was raised in Perugia, Italy, where she was trained at Associazione Culturale Dance Gallery. Gosti uses dance, time, duration, motion, and movement to compose performances that are diverse both structurally and culturally. Her work encourages viewers to transfigure preexisting perceptions about the world by submersing them into an environment that is different from their own.

Gosti attended the University of Washington where she received her BA with a focus in choreography and experimental film. She was the recipient of the 2012 Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Dance award, the 2012 ImPulsTanz danceWEB scholarship, the 2015 inaugural Intiman Theatre’s Emerging Artist Program as a Director, and an Artist Trust GAP Grant and Fellowship. In 2016 she received the prestigious National Dance Project Production Grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts. Gosti is also the founder of Yellow Fish // Epic Durational Performance Festival, the world’s only festival dedicated exclusively to durational performance.
