Charlotte Foust received her BFA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In her work, she explores emotional states of being through automatic painting. Through the direct act of mark making, she strips away the outer veneer constructed by others, thereby shedding light on the truth of existence. The numerous tensions that exist in our world today with regards to national, as well as personal security and issues concerning the atmosphere and life on earth, are just two of the many themes she deals with in her work.
