Elizabeth Brim received her MFA from The University of Georgia and moved to Penland ten years ago to dedicate herself to pursuing a personal career in art while improving the condition of the Iron Studio at Penland. Elizabeth's residency is funded by Charlotte Pipe & Foundry. She has been making narrative life-size sculptures since 1988 that have feminine themes as a result of a strong influence of her mother and grandmother. She sees her work as an examination of her heritage and what is expected of her as a southern woman - making fun of herself and creating the world as she wants it to be.
