Since Elizabeth Spotswood Alexander received her MFA at the University of Massachusetts, she has exhibited extensively, including venues in Chicago, St. Louis, and Charlotte. Alexander creates surreal, yet accessible, sculptures made of wood, paint, and found objects. Her work is inspired by nurturing female role models. Conjuring memories and emotions from past and present, the artist says, "I always end up in a rich, dramatic and superstitious dream world where who I remember, who I want to be, and who I am harmoniously exist together."
