Gwen Bigham received her BFA from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She is a recipient of the 2002 International Sculpture Center Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. Bigham's work includes installation, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Her sculptures represent the importance of individual experience and the sharing of that experience through the universality of form, texture, sound, and space. Bigham's art is often a quiet commentary on the position of women in our society.
