A visual artist, playwright, poet, stage/video director, and actor, John W. Love, Jr. is an interdisciplinary literary and performance artist whose work can be described as complex, circuitous, textural, and contextual. Love bears the distinction of being the first individual artist to receive the 2011 Arts & Science Council McColl Award in support of the creation of his latest interdisciplinary work FECUND. During his residency at the Center, he will be dedicated to the creative aims of FECUND through his creative process steeped in exploration, experimentation, discovery, collaboration, play, and an exhilarating process of editing. Love’s studio will be a hub of activity for workshops, collaborations, and meditative contemplation. Love has traveled to Sweden, Paris, New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles for his work and has been awarded numerous residencies, grants, and fellowships.
