After making art for more than thirty years, Juan Logan returned to school at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and received an MFA. His artwork has been featured in over 250 solo and group exhibitions across the country, including the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC and the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh. His passion for raising awareness and making a difference through visual art has resulted in several bodies of work that challenge viewers to ask questions of themselves. Subjects dealing with the human condition and social responsibility have been the focus of his sculptures, prints, and paintings, aesthetically beautiful objects that engage the viewer to "bear witness" to simple truths and dilemmas in our society. Juan believes that his voice as an artist stimulates the development of both black and white community self-awareness, which is crucial to our ability to bring about social change.
