Lynne Hull has a BA from the University of Wyoming, as well as continuing advacned studies in Austin and Colorado. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, a Lila Wallace Reader's Digest Arts International Residency, and numerous other national residencies and grants. Hull has pioneered "trans-species" art, creating environmental sculptures as wildlife habitat enhancement and mitigation for human impact. Her sense of humor together with her sense of responsibility to the environment has led to works such as roosting and nesting sites for a myriad of species as well as memorials to lost habitats. She believes the creativity of artists can be applied to real-world problems and can have an effect on urgent social and environmental issues.
