Mary Draper received her BS from Murray State University and her MEd from Vanderbilt University. Influenced by her artist parents and growing up in rural Kentucky, she integrates the spontaneity and depth of watercolor in her creation intimate pieces. Developing beauty through abstraction, Draper manipulates color to express ephemeral ideas and concepts. Believing that the language of art has its own syntax, form, and rhythm, Draper translates that language into her own style of visual poetry.
