Michael Schall received his MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He has exhibited his work across Europe and the United States and is a past recipient of a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant. Addressing the dichotomy of permanence in contemporary industrialization, Schall reminds viewers that the brand new and the obsolete go hand-in-hand. His graphite compositions stem from an interest in the way architecture and its relationship to the environment can shed light on our collective social fears and desires.
