Renee Stout received her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and has work in many permanent collections including the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. She utilizes a wide range of mediums in order to make immediate and tangible the ideas she shares in weaving an expansive narrative of the human condition and human relationships. Through a cultivated alter ego, Fatima Mayfield, Stout’s work addresses issues from social ills and romantic relationships to financial hardships openly, creatively, and often humorously aspiring for both self-discovery and societal revelation.
