Brooklyn-based artist Robert Lazzarini is best known for his iconic sculptural distortions based on familiar objects. His work addresses themes such as violence, mortality, social ruination, corporeal displacement and vision. Lazzarini’s process is a unique one, conflating digital design with traditional sculpting techniques (modeling, carving, mold making, finishing), industrial manufacturing (casting, brake work, welding, fabrication), and advanced technologies (solid modeling, rapid prototyping, rapid tooling). The artist’s innovative work pushes the boundaries of object making and continues to add to the larger discourse of visual culture.
