Scott McCulloch completed his BSA at the College of Charleston, South Carolina and recently received his MFA from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. His involvement with research at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology inspired him to view the materials he uses to create in a different light and to explore the relationship between nature and hard metals through his art. He works in a variety of media but focuses his creative energy producing sculptural objects from different types of metal. Scott's work encompasses searching for and developing an awareness and knowledge of the philosophical, social, and visual properties inherent to the materials he uses and revealing the elemental forces locked within them.
