Susan Harbage received her BM and MM in saxophone performance from Michigan State Univeristy and an MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship. Harbage Page employs a variety of techniques including photography, altered textiles, videos and installation to explore how shared traumatic histories inform and shape current social relations. Drawing from a childhood spent in both the North and the South, her work addresses the cultural performance of gender, race, identity politics, and illegal immigration.
