Thomas Mezzanotte has been designated as a Master Teaching Artist by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and teaches in schools throughout the state. He is a photographer who experiments with making his own photosensitive materials and also builds his own cameras, some of which are large enough to walk into, in this way he manipulates the images from the inside of the camera. He uses 19th century photographic processes because he is interested in what they will yield at the service of a modern aesthetic.
