Tim McMahon is McColl Center for Visual Art's 8th Art Teacher Resource Resident from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Currently an art teacher at Hopewell High School, Timothy has been teaching for thirty years. McMahon considers himself a painter, although he has worked with drawing, printmaking, and ceramics. His current focus is landscape painting. Having traveled  primarily in the western United States, where he sketched and photographed the natural environment, he now draws on that documentation as visual and emotional inspiration for his oil paintings.
