Ioannis Anastasiou

My artistic research delves into the vast landscape of collective memory, excavating fragments of the everyday and the extraordinary. Through my work, I explore the interplay between the familiar and the peculiar, weaving narratives that span the spectrum of human remembrance.

From the echoes of war to the quiet whispers of remembrance, from the readily understood to the unsettlingly ambiguous, my works navigate the complexities of memory's reconstruction and misconstruction. I seek to capture the essence of the past, present, and potential futures, inviting viewers to contemplate the impact of the individual, the public, the personal, the forgotten.

Through the mediums of printmaking, artists' books, installation, and sculpture, I explore the shared space between the intelligible and the obscure, both in my individual and collaborative practice with Majka Dokudowicz.
