In preparation for our Benefit Art Auction the McColl Center will be closed to the public through February 7th. Join us for Family Day on February 8th.

DRAW MCCOLL

Facilitated by Felicia van Bork, Draw McColl Center meets every Tuesday night for three hours. Some artists come early to choose their favorite spot. There are tables, tabletop easels, chairs, standing easels, and drawing boards, and sometimes even donated pastels and newsprint. That there is great music doesn’t hurt, either.

Artists draw in styles from academic to experimental and everything in between, using a range of media including watercolor, conté, pencil, oil pastel, soft pastel, oil sticks, colored pencil, charcoal, brush and ink, and iPad.

Instruction is not provided unless requested. Felicia says, “If you ask for feedback about your drawing, you may well get five fantastic artists loving up your work and sharing their best tips.”

The popular event attracts artists of all levels of ability, from “never drawn from the nude before” to “beginning to get the hang of it after 40 years.” The cheerful networking during breaks has led to collaborations, jobs, attendance at art events, exhibition opportunities, and memberships in programs like McColl Center’s Co-op.
