public questions / private conduct

Date: February 23 - April 10, 2022
Time: Gallery Hours
Cost: Free | $10 suggested donation

“In theory, every citizen makes up his mind on public questions and matters of private conduct.” – Edward Bernays, Propaganda (1928)

When presented with information, we have a choice; we can question our initial positions, learn more, then decide how to conduct ourselves or we can be told how to react. Artists-in-residence Rachel Eng, Irisol Gonzalez, André Leon Gray, and Ọmọlará Williams McCallister present information that explores complex ideas impacting the contemporary world. Not interested in presenting solutions, each artist builds space for us to examine, question, and ultimately make our own decisions on the environment, history, and our ability to make an impact.
